And by now, I guess you all know we're the first to return here. Five years... five long years he's been dormant... and he's hungry. Jason's out there... watching... always on the prowl for intruders. Waiting to kill... waiting to devour... Thirsty for young blood.

By the time FRIDAY THE 13^TH shocked the nation into horror-ville, apparently, no one involved in the 2^nd installment felt like they even needed a sub-title. They just called it FRIDAY THE 13^TH PART 2 and that was all you needed to know.

PART 2 picks up nicely after the first one ends with the last potential victim having a run-in with what we think might be an older Jason, (“In the lake, the one - the one who attacked me - the one who pulled me underneath the water, -Alice, “ma’am, we didn’t find any boy.”) at her apartment. We get a new crop of camp counselors up at Camp Crystal Lake, and the running for your life begins early and often. Some fans disregard this part in the series because by the time you had part 3 came out, a lot of people were expecting that hockey mask in part 2 having not seen this installment prior.

In my opinion, this is the 3rd best movie in the entire series. My next favorite doesn’t come till much later. Several of the most iconic scenes in the entire series are in this film namely the haunting telling of the story of “Camp Blood” near the beginning of the film. Then the very last scene in the movie which was apparently so good they used part of that story in the 2010 remake of FRIDAY THE 13^TH.

Amy Steel (Ginny) in my opinion is one of the top actresses in this entire series as well. I am honestly not really sure how many times I have seen this movie, but it has had the most haunting impression of anything horror-related in this genre. From the sets to the clothing to the teens who all seem to be older than teens, to the brilliant eerie music we got in part 1, this is just a really strong outing overall.

With all of its successes, FRIDAY THE 13^TH Part II was just as low budget as part 1. Because of that, it made almost 20X what it cost to produce at the Box Office, Part of the reason why FRIDAY THE 13^TH is the most successful horror series ever made.
