SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERY INCORPORATED : SEASON 1 EPISODE 20 – THE SIREN’S SONG

SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERY INCORPORATED: SEASON 1 EPISODE 20 – THE SIREN’S SONG

In this one, Velma decides to venture out on her own and investigate some haunted fishing platform, after not being able to get any help from the rest of the gang. She runs into a mermaid named Amy,  who offers to help her solve the mystery. On her jaunt, she is chased by some crazy looking sea creatures known as the “Fish Freaks”, on Daphne’s parent’s boat.

Angel Dynamite ends up stepping into this one to help the gang get some clues as to where to look in regards to solving the mystery. This is another episode involving Destroido Corp and we also run into the protestors from Darrow University that Daphne was hanging out within THE SHRIEKING MADNESS.

The plot in this one is pretty strong. I actually love the motives of the villains and they actually look pretty great. I love this freakin episode. It also starts to introduce some un-expected doubt between Angel Dynamite and the rest of the gang. How does Angel know so much? Is Angel even her real name?

Oddity – There is a scene where the mermaid climbs up a ladder just using her arms. You don’t see that very often.

Second Oddity - Shaggy and Scooby tell the waitress at The Bloody Stake how they can eat so much by holding their breath. What? I think writing-wise they could have come up with something better but it does nothing to ruin my thoughts on the episode overall.

Best Line – “Because you are almost impossible to understand on the phone” – Velma talking to Scooby.

Second Best Line – “You must be willing to kill the environment to save it.” – The Protestors. (That's not right).
