SCOOBY-DOO MYSTERY INCORPORATED: SEASON 1 EPISODE 13 – WHEN THE CICADA CALLS

Cicada are taking over Crystal Cove and attacking employees of a company called Destroido Corp. The bugs are basically forming a giant cicada made of millions of cicada’s to do their bidding. Prior to getting attacked the victims get a deep-voiced call, telling them to quit working for the company.

Elsewhere Fred gets jealous of Daphne’s developing crush on one of her teachers. The good news in this one is that the gang is all back together solving mysteries, but there is still some friction between Velma and Scooby. This is also an episode where Fred comes up with a genius trap to capture the villain. The motive in this one is also pretty freakin rad.

Fact – One of Crystal Coves newspapers is called “The Crystal Cover Tattler”.

Second Fact - In order to try and make money the Crystal Cove Mayor Fred Rodgers actually decided to hold a festival based on the cicada attacks. It literally had rides and everything.

You can feel a lot of effort was put into animation on this one making the cicada creature 3D looking. I don’t really have any complaints about this episode, but I can see why people that don’t like bugs would pretty much hate it. In one scene a cicada is pulled out of a dude's nose.
