CREEPSHOW 2 (1986)

CREEPSHOW 2 (1986)

To this date I have never seen Creepshow or Creepshow III so this is all I have to compare this to. While some have claimed that Creepshow 2 wasn’t as good as the first installment, I don’t remember ever hearing about the first one, while I do remember hearing all about this one. Oddly Creepshow fans had to wait 19 years for part 3? What the heck?

Anyway the first of 3 stories involves a wooden chief statue who takes revenge on some murderous robbers. The second is probably the most horrifying of the 3 involved a slime creature killing off kids at a lake one by one. The third story is about a hitchhiker that flat out refuses to take no for an answer with grisly results. Also adding to the interest in this movie, I was actually in Dover, NH this summer (that was where the hitchhiker was headed).

Creepshow has some heavy Stephen King ties and he was even in the first two movies. So naturally I found it hard to pass up. Seeing this at 18 for the first time, the creepy humor in this one still holds its value and the age old lesson, “you’re deeds will be punished”. In the case of “THE RAFT” very severely given the crime. For fans of just about any campy horror flicks that came out of the 80’s Creepshow 2 is a must see. I give this film a 5 out of 7.

Rating definition :
VERY GOOD This movie leaves you with that feeling that although everything may not be okay, girls can kick butt and one man can save the world with either one bullet left in the chamber or some special power he discovered 5 minutes ago. This movie is a good time and makes you wonder how many people you can tell about it's awesomeness the next day at work.
