Tagline: Crack the code. Take back your mind.

(Sci-Fi, Drama, Ads) [PG-13]

Young man... You're going to have a very unusual life.

Note – If you see that Leelee Sobieski is at the top of a movie billing, you are 70% of the time in for something inventive if not controversial.

In this film, you get a taste of just about everything. From the narration being done by talking stars in the shape of a cow (no I am not kidding), to ad-driven Pokemon-esque creatures popping out of the main character's girlfriend’s ears, back, and just about every major building in Moscow.

Unfortunately what we don’t get is much of what you see in the posters. No, the main character doesn’t have an axe, at all. He doesn’t roam rooftops (maybe once) and he doesn’t personally jack up any CGI balloon artist’s creations. Instead, we get about an hour of slow-moving advertising agency politics and about 45 minutes of Rick Grimes (when he's crazy) by our un-likable jerk of a hero Misha (Ed Stoppard) whose only extremely memorable work for most would be The Pianist.

Having said all that, the central message of the film is not only thought-provoking, it’s probably right. If you see this try and rent it as cheaply as you can. DO NOT BUY IT. The posters are some of the best I’ve seen, but the movie itself almost feels like a trap. Somewhere in the diatribe of secular morality and infrequent eye candy, is a film better suited for consumption in social sciences or advertising classes at ASU, than as a “let's go out and see dudes jack up "Jack In The Box” movie. This bizarre trip in the head of writers Jamie Bradshaw and Aleksandr Dulerayn will be worth it for those in the mood to overthink fast foods grip on society.

Also, we are treated to serious and convincing (almost Oscar-worthy) performances by Leelee Sobieski and Jeffrey Tambor. If you like her, you might almost have to rent this.

Oh and for those that haven't seen it. The dead cow ashes are being poured over your head. Don't try that at home.

My rating is a 3 out of 7.
