BIRDEMIC : SHOCK AND TERROR (2010)

BIRDEMIC (2010)

Every once in awhile a bad movie comes along that doesn’t rely on over the top gore or gross out moments or a ridiculous idea, yet it redefines badness with its undisputed ability to suck. If you are looking for sheer brilliance in the arena of awful, BIRDEMIC just might be the new and undisputed king of bad movies (it currently comes in around 5th or 6th on most credible bad movie lists).

The movie centers around a new couple trying to escape a bunch of ticked off birds that are killing everyone in sight (sometimes seemingly without even touching them). Sadly the first 45 minutes or so are a pretty un-watchable series of events leading up to the couple dating and having all kinds of great things happening to them. One gets a modeling job at Victoria Secret and the other starts a billion-dollar company (yeah, I said a billion).

The last 45 minutes or so is just about as bad as it gets. Global warming has caused animated GIF birds to freak out and start attacking everyone. Only when these birds attack you they don’t just peck you to death, they scratch your face so badly it looks like you were attacked by a bear. Apparently guns are a fairly good weapon against animated GIF birds (that’s right, this movie doesn’t even seem to really bother with CGI), but with those GIFs coming at you at 1.5 miles an hour, there is almost no chance of escape.

Apparently shot for around $14.00 and some gas money this movie is top notch badness so classic it is almost impossible for me not to suggest you check it out. Looking for visual and audio punishment with a movie your co-workers could have acted better in look no further, BIRDEMIC is your perfect absolute waste of time. For that, I give it a duel rating.

This one gets a 1 out of 7 for fans of all that is Holy.

For bad movie fans, this is a 7 out of 7. I am sure it gets worse than this, but probably not.
