Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is the 4th installment to the franchise. How does it compare to the other ones and how does this do with starting the new saga of the series? Well, we get introduced to our main character Noah, and his 2 friends as they climb a tall tower in a city grown over by wildlife. Seeing how far the world has grown over and changed since we last saw it in the last movie is crazy. The plot is simple, there is a tribe of Monkeys that took what Caesar said and misinterpreted his words. Forgetting the true meaning of his teachings and leadership and how Apes should work together.

Noah’s tribe is attacked by these Masked-faced Monkeys and captured. So Noah sets out to try and find them all while being followed by a human. Let's talk about the things I liked and didn't like. The CGI as always is getting better and better. Some of the monkeys actually look real, it's just very impressive. The cinematography is also good in this. I like the character Noah he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. The new Villain Proximus Caesar is great and Kevin Durand does an awesome voice for him. We meet a character named Raka who knows the true teaching of Caesar, while I do like his character I wish he was in it longer. The action bits we get are pretty good but honestly nothing like in Dawn or War. So if you are going into this movie thinking you are gonna get some big action pieces you'll be disappointed. I liked learning more about Mae and the humans.

The Vault they are trying to get into was pretty interesting with all what’s inside. But that brings me to the things I didn’t like. The first 30 mins to be honest is pretty slow. There are so many long drawn out scenes of them trekking along or not a lot of interesting things going on. I also don’t get how Noah isn’t a descendant of Caesar. Like he looks exactly like a younger version of him. His face is a light tan while his parent's face look nothing like his. I thought we were gonna hear how his father’s grandfather was Cornelius or something but nope. Noah is the only stand-out-looking ape amongst his people.

Slight spoilers but the way they get into the vault was just so silly. You are telling me Proximus didn’t try to look around the surrounding area for another way to get into it? Was just too easy. I thought it was gonna be that Mae had to push in a secret code into a door to get in. Also, I wish we got to see what happened to the people in the vault because it was completely empty, not even bones. This was a decent attempt at a 4th film it just wasn’t as impressive as I thought it would be. That’s why I give Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes a 7.5/10
