KIM POSSIBLE : SEASON 1 EPISODE 12 – PAIN KING VS CLEOPATRA (2002)
In this episode we find out that Ron is really into the
Global Wrestling Association and two of its most famous wrestlers are Steel Toe
and Pain King. They have a manager Jackie ‘The Jackal’ Oaks who is much shorter
and gets made fun of by them when he talks about getting back in the ring. Later
an ancient Egyptian talisman is stolen and its wearer is granted super human
strength. Of course that doesn’t go without Kim and Ron noticing.
This is also the episode where Kim meets Monique for the
first time. Monique works at Cleopatra’s Closet in the mall. She is voiced by
Raven-Symone who recently did a stint on “The Masked Singer”. Ron is kind of
jealous of Monique since him and Kim pretty much spend all of their spare time
together. I think the introduction of Monique in this series is pretty
important, because outside of Monique there isn’t anyone outside of Ron and
Wade that even seem to like Kim for something other than what she can do for
them.
The artwork in this episode is so so, but decent direction
and cool scenes throughout. The Jackal is also probably the best villain introduced
in this entire series. Unfortunately we only get to see him in action once. I
love this series, which is part of why I am reviewing it, but it seems kind of
a waste that they had a great villain like The Jackal and decided to give more
episodes to villains like Kiligan than him.
Best Line – “Kim, Steel Toe is a guy, steal cage, is well…a
cage.” – Ron Stoppable.
I have to give this one a 7 out of 7. There isn’t anything
about this episode that I didn’t like. I just wish they had done more of this
type of thing. The Jackal is the 10th different villain or group of
villains introduced in this series and is one of very few that have mystical
powers of some sort.
