KIM POSSIBLE : SEASON 1 EPISODE 10 – ROYAL PAIN (2002)

KIM POSSIBLE : SEASON 1 EPISODE 10 – ROYAL PAIN (2002)

In this one Ron pretty much volunteer’s Kim to run for the school’s council President. Then he pretty much decides he’s going to run her campaign. The whole thing is upset by the fact that she is called on a mission to bodyguard a spoiled prince. Turns out the descendants of a king that was a jerk are now after the prince. They are a group of knights (technically the 9th foe introduced in the series) that actually have a website. For protection Kim decides it’s okay to continue the mission at her school where the Prince ends up being more popular than Kim.

There are parts of the animation in this one that are pretty good, but there are also some issues where the movements don’t flow and come across as more choppy like frames are missing.

The plot isn’t terrible, but even though they mention the Prince and have an episode about him. I don’t recall seeing the character again. I kind of wonder if the producers of the show were golf fans, because this is another episode featuring a form of golf that has nothing to do with Duff Killigan. This episode is also largely void of humor unlike most of the season thus far. Not even the sign out in front of the school has a clever saying.

Cool – This episode does feature the voice talent of Grey Griffin as a TV announcer. She is best known for voicing Daphne from several Scooby Doo series and specials.

Odd – Brick Flag runs against Kim for school council President. They are in the same grade, but in Season 4 Brick has already left for college. So either he suddenly got smarter than Kim or they just overlooked this detail in the writing process.

Best Line – “Mr. Barkin, from the great state of confusion, I am proud to nominate our next class president, Kim Possible.” – Ron Stoppable

I have to give this one a 3 out of 7. I did like the Knights as villains but they are hardly even on screen. I am also pretty sure we never see them again.
