KIM POSSIBLE : SEASON 1 EPISODE 3 – THE NEW RON (2002)

KIM POSSIBLE : SEASON 1 EPISODE 3 – THE NEW RON (2002)

In this one Kim talks Ron into getting a new haircut. He ends up pretty much hating it. It doesn’t take long before Kim and Ron get called to go find out who was using so much power. The wattage is affecting all of Europe. When they get there it’s a rich dude named Senor Senior Sr., and his son Senor Senior Jr., Ron un-wittingly convinces them to become super-villains because they have such a crazy huge lair….or house.

Kim starts embracing Rufus even offering to let him stay with her because Ron decides to go for a new look to compensate for his hair issue, and Rufus no longer fits in his pants pocket. There is a nice touch in this when they let you know Kim’s mom is a brain surgeon, after she’s made a meatloaf brain and put it on the kitchen table to have her family try first. Kim Possible’s moms name is Dr. Ann Possible and is voiced by (Jean Smart, from Designing Women and the HBO Watchmen series).

There is also a pretty great fight in here with Senor Senior Jr. and Ron, where both of them are distracting each other by messing up one another’s hair. Kim and Ron have a lot better chemistry in this episode than in the first 2 as well but early in this series she does come across as slightly bossy which Rufus actually eludes to in Episode 2. This is also the Spinning Tops Of Doom episode which is pretty great. The humor is on point, but I think the 2 villains introduced are my least favorite in the series. By the way, whether or not this is actually episode 3 and not episode 2 seems to be the subject of some debate. Either someone at Disney + doesn’t know and inadvertently made this episode 2, or most other sites on the internet have the episode list wrong.

Best Line - “The piranha won’t be here till Monday, but I assure you, the coy have not been fed in days.” - Senor Senior Sr

I give this episode a 5 out of 7. Not quite a 6, but it’s better than Episode 1.
