KIM POSSIBLE : SEASON 1 EPISODE 2 – SINK OR SWIM (2002)
In this one the cheerleaders at Ron and Kim’s school, end up
getting challenged to go up to a cheerleading contest. Ron goes because he is
the school’s mascot “Mad Dog”. On the way the group along with Mr. Steve Barkin,
(voiced by Patrick Warburton who was also the voice of the Sheriff in Scooby
Doo Mystery Inc.), blows a tire and is stranded at camp Wannaweep. That camp is
the main source of everything Ron is afraid of for most of this series.
Once there, they run into a villain named “Gill” who is a kid who swam in the camps toxic lake too much and turned into basically the Creature From The Black lagoon. He terrorizes the group and it’s time for Ron to step up using his crazy arts and craft skills. Gil is the 5th villain introduced in the series (1.Dr. Drakken, 2. Shego, 3. Senor Senior Sr., 4. Senor Senior Jr.) The exact order of the villains is debatable depending on which order you think episodes 2 & 3 should be in.

The storyline in this one is fantastic, but there is one
plot hole where Barkin starts to mutate into a fish person and no one else
seems to be. I guess it’s possible that is because Barkin was the first person
to be abducted in the episode. Of all the episodes in this series, this episode
feels the most like an episode of Scooby Doo. I will say the art in this series
is rather cool and I love the style, but there are lots of panels that look
very thrown together for a Disney production. Aside from that this episode
stands out in being one of the few where Ron saves the day by himself and where
Bonnie is actually nice to Ron for about a second.
Best Line – “Well I specialize in genetically altered rutabagas, so this should be quite a challenge” – Dr. Lurkin

Overall this one gets a solid 6 out of 7. The only thing
missing would have been a few more humorous lines.
