BRING ME THE HEAD OF
THE MACHINE GUN WOMAN (2012)
Tagline: They came for her head. She cut them to pieces.
(Action, Almost Comedy, Guns) [R].
Note: This movie was not given a rating by the MPAA, but it definitely would have been an [R].
This Latin film follows the goofy adventures of DJ Santiago
who wouldn’t hurt a fly. He runs into a violent criminal who is planning on
killing him until DJ convinces him, he can kill the legendary Machine Gun
Woman. Given 24 hours to do the job DJ is now in way over his freakin head and
basically Jack Burton’s his way through the rest of this damn movie.
Because this is at the very least supposed to be in the Grindhouse style, we get the grainy intro and sometimes wacky editing that we’d expect. What this thing can’t overcome is just some terrible writing and a lot of slow parts that feel misplaced in this film Not only is the ending anti-climatic, it doesn’t make any sense at all.

Unlike some reviews I’ve read on this movie, I actually didn’t have a
problem with the Machine Gun Woman. In fact, one of the realistic
things about this movie is that she gets pretty jacked up. At points the movie
almost turns into a cautionary tale regarding woman and how it’s not practical
to be having gun fights in so little clothing. Also no matter how bad-a-s you
are...unless you are wearing something bullet proof, you can expect to get
really messed up.
This one is not for kids and does contain some nudity and
Grindhouse style violence. Overall I can’t recommend buying this, but if you
have a mere 73 minutes and are mildly bored, this might fit the bill.
