Yes, yes, I know it’s madness, but I am willing to take any risk for her. In this one an adult dancer named Jeanette Moreneau gets her face jacked up in a car accident. Naturally, a mad scientist finds out about it and is determined to fix her face. Because as you know, scientists can’t stand it if your face is all messed up and they weren’t the cause. THE MUMMY (2017) Just have to get this off my chest. Do not believe the “bomb” hype surrounding this movie. It hasn’t even dropped on DVD and BLU RAY and it’s already, as of this review $21 MILLION short of PACIFIC RIM’s entire box office haul. PACIFIC RIM is getting (and deservedly) a second installment and there is no reason Universal’s planned “DARK UNIVERSE” shouldn’t be able to come out swinging with their next installment in the series. The movie starts out with a quick accidental discovery of an ancient Egyptian prison. It’s in a giant hole, it’s creepy as all get out and it’s got a giant metaphorical sign on it saying “don’t screw with this”. What does our main character (Tom Cruise) do? If you saw the previews you don’t have to guess. From then on we have a very well-paced, “Ahmanet and her mummies will shrivel your face off” romp of mayhem and desperation. SCOOBY-DOO! WHERE ARE YOU SEASON 1 EPISODE 1 – WHAT A NIGHT FOR A KNIGHT [Animation, Mystery, Comedy] This was the first official episode of Scooby-Doo! ever made. The start of it all, the crème del-la crème of the Scooby-Doo! legacy and it featured the voice talents of Don Messick as Scooby-Doo, Casey Kasem as Shaggy Rodgers, Nicole Jaffe as Velma Dinkley, Frank Welker as Fred Jones, and Stefanianna Christopherson. The story takes Scoob and the gang to a creepy old museum to investigate an ancient suit of armor called the “Black Knight” that according to legend is said to come to life when the is full. Art-wise – The style in the ’60s, ’70s, and most of the ’80s was pretty simplistic and hand-drawn so flaws are pretty easy to point out. There is one scene where Shaggy falls down and literally looks flatter than humanly possible. The “Black Night” design is fine and serves its purpose. WEDNESDAY SEASON 1 CHAPTER 3 – FRIEND OR WOE In this chapter, Wednesday and the students at Nevermore go to do some work at Pilgrim World for Outreach Day. While there Wednesday does some research into the founder of the town. When she uncovers the truth, she decides to take matters into her own hands at a town celebration. Out of all the episodes in the entire series. This is by a long shot the least inventive and most boring. While it does harken back to some of the ideas we got in GINGER SNAPS BACK: THE BEGINNING, almost to the point where a flashback scene almost looks ripped from that movie. Only we don’t get any werewolves in this episode. That comes later. This episode does give us some background to Wednesday’s ancestor from 400 years earlier, but it didn’t feel necessary to waste a whole chapter on it. My other issue with this chapter is that they take some completely unnecessary potshots at people of faith. I wouldn’t expect Wednesday to believe in heaven or ...
