WER (2013)
This movie is about a
grisly murder of a father and son while the mother was watching and got mangled
herself. They catch a suspect and take him into custody. Defense attorney Kate
Moore takes the case but the more we find out the more things unravel. Loaded
with conspiracy, distrust and some savage unsettling attacks WER is definitely
the most intense werewolf flick in years.
The good–acting in this is at a premium.
For the budget and resources involved we get some nutty top notch effects
whenever something isn’t movie fast and the CGI takes over. This film does a
great job of being dark and gritty while still giving us an underlying jealousy
storyline.
Where the film almost
completely fails is in the cinematography, while we get some decent helicopter shots
we get some of the worst camera stability I have ever seen on shots where it is
just flat out un-excusable. While some of this almost feels like a found
footage film it really doesn’t fit that mold in any way that would be
considered complete.
I felt this film escalated as it went on and turned into something I didn’t quite expect. True horror fans will be pretty happy with this overall. I wasn’t a huge fan of the final look of the transformed werewolf but it will make fans of the way back machine traditional stuff give it an affirmative nod.

For me this is a 5 out of 7, but I think a lot of people would
go even higher.
