SLUGS (1988)

SLUGS (1988)

Umm, this thing is just flat out nuts. Gross and nuts. In this one a mutated form of slugs is slowly (no pun intended) taking over the town by killing people in the most freakin gruesome way they can find. Some are pretty big, some are small, they are in the water, they are in your hair… this is a bad bad date movie.

Based on the Novel SLUGS, this movie is billed as a comedy horror flick. The only thing I found funny was that the main characters name is Mike Brady. That does not mean that it isn’t full of cheesy 80’s stuff especially the acting and dialog. Having said that none of this makes SLUGS a bad movie and if you are looking for crazy over the top effects this movie is out of control.

Michael Garfield plays the lead but you won’t know who he is unless you watched just a ton of LAW AND ORDER in the early 2000’s. This is the perfect horror movie fest film for just about any line up, but do not say I didn’t warn you, it’s pretty gross and never really let’s up. Another thing I noticed was the soundtrack. Pay attention to when anyone starts driving, because you are going to hear some of the corniest NFL Films from the 80’s style music you have ever heard.

Also the girl that doesn’t want any pizza…she is the smartest person in the whole movie. If you haven’t seen this you can still likely catch it on a streaming service now right now or pick it up on DVD cheap. Must see for horror fans. I give this a 5 out of 7.
