STRANGER THINGS : TRICK OR TREAT FREAK (2017)
If you have not done so, watch Season 1 before reading this
to avoid spoilers. This season takes place in Hawkins, Indiana in 1984. Will
has been rescued after his vanishing a year earlier but is starting to see
visions of the Upside Down. Meanwhile the rest of the town is facing a curious
rot happening to farms in the area. Just what exactly in the name of Charlie’s Brown’s
Pumpkin Patch is going on now?
For the record I would be Winston if no one wanted to be and we were dressing up as the Ghostbusters. This episode starts out showing how Eleven, survived Season 1 which is not only a cool opening, it adds to the rad level of this episode which is basically at a level 10. Even better was that they managed to nail this soundtrack once again getting even the theme song to Ghostbusters on the plate. The Halloween portions of this episode are freakin great, so much nostalgia. They also pumped the non-PC back into this episode so that was welcome. One downside was Mike(played by Finn Wolfhard) kinda being standoffish, but I guess someone had to take over Lucas’s attitude from season 1 for flavoring.

At the end of Season 1, Hopper (played by David Harbour)
made a deal with Hawkins Lab to not talk about what happened to Barb or Will,
so Nancy and Steve are debating what to do about their guilt on that which
leads to some issues for them. This aspect of the episode just lends to how
great Season 1 was, because when that was being written there wasn’t even a
Season 2 planned.
Another cool aspect was seeing Lucas (played by Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin (played by Gaten Matarazzo) still trying to find ways to win over Max. We also get to see how good Bob is for Joyce, which is pretty comforting given last season she almost got back together with Will’s idiot dad. It’s also pretty comical that he worked for Radio Shack. I am not sure if that was ever a hot job, but I do know at one point their tech was considered ground breaking.

Also in this episode we get a few flashbacks to what Eleven
(played by Millie Bobby Brown) had to do to survive before she ran across
Hopper. This was a nice touch that added to the richness of this installment.
None - I am aware the graphic below says "movie" and not "episode" but if you pretend it does, you will be just fine.
