STRANGER THINGS : THE GATE (2017)

STRANGER THINGS : THE GATE (2017)

If you have not done so, watch Season 1 before reading this to avoid spoilers. This season takes place in Hawkins, Indiana in 1984. Will has been rescued after his vanishing a year earlier but is starting to see visions of the Upside Down. Meanwhile the rest of the town is facing a curious rot happening to farms in the area. Just what exactly in the name of “damn good babysitters from the black hole” is going on now?

In this episode Eleven isn’t excited to meet Max, Hopper isn’t excited about Eleven’s new look but at least he is starting to figure Eleven and fathering out again. Dustin for some reason wants to keep the dead body of a demogorgon  in the Byer’s refrigerator. Apparently Mike does not like sports…like at all.
Girls Dustin’s age are dumb and apparently no one in the 80’s knew smoking can kill you.

Now, Steve is going on a daring mission with Dustin, Max, Mike and Lucas that he wants no part of. While this episode shows off the acting skills of Noah Schnapp (as Will) and Joe Keery  (as Steve) the episode is a lot about Max and how much value she brings to the “party” or group of friends Stranger Things revolves around. While probably not as great as the episode before it, THE GATE deserves a clear 7 out of 7 from me. I don’t want to go too much into this one if you have not seen Season 2 as to how it all turns out, but man on man.

This is yet another Stranger Things episode jam packed with emotion, laughs and action. That makes it just another freakin fantastic masterpiece in the series.  Season 3 Premiere’s on Netflix July 4th 2019.
