STRANGER THINGS : THE BATHTUB (2016)

STRANGER THINGS : THE BATHTUB (2016)

STRANGER THINGS takes place in Hawkins, Indiana in 1983. One night on the way home from his friend’s house Will Byers suddenly disappears, and now the town’s “maybe I should have stayed with Joyce Myers”, Sheriff Jim Hopper, is going to try to figure out what’s behind it. And now you had better watch out, because Steve man, Steve freakin Harrington suddenly gets it and he’s gonna have to step up.

In this episode Karen loses her mind, Nancy finds out the kids gave her dress to Eleven and now you need a tub to find Will, because he’s like the freakin hiding seek champion circa 1983. Joyce is not taking this lying down. We get the STRANGER THINGS version of the MONSTER SQUAD going on. What more could you ask for? This installment is just over the top incredible. The opening scene alone is better than a lot of what we get on regular TV in an entire season. Finally we all the characters we have been following all season packed into 1 episode of total awesomeness.

One question Jenn had when re-watching the series for the 3rd time was how Will ended up where he is in the first place? Will wasn’t bleeding when he vanished? Maybe someone’s got an explanation other than the fact that he was just the “chosen spy”.  It should also be noted that Mathew Modine, is epically convincing as and evil Dr. Martin in this.

Done with the season long set up and introductions the Duffer Brothers decided to just unleash everything we could have expected from this series in the final 2 episodes with relentless abandon and several intriguing ideas. It even highlights yet another use for duck-tape I bet you hadn’t thought up.
