It’s been a year since the last movie, so if you haven’t seen AVENGERS :  INFINITY WAR , stop reading this and suffer through that one like the rest of us, then come back and read this.

In this one we are in an “After The Snap” world where half of all life has been eliminated from the universe. The remaining AVENGERS (which is oddly the original AVENGERS + a few others), decide Thanos must die (that pretty much everyone saw coming). Only now for the dumbest reason the film makers could give CAPTAIN MARVEL suddenly decides to get involved. Because either 1, no one notified Nick Fury, that Thanos was about to wipe out half the universe, or 2, he was busy making other movies.

Anyway all that aside this movie ends up involving some big time cop out methods to attempt to avenge the events of the last movie. I won’t give too much else away. Let me just say without spoiling things, this one does a pretty good job of moving along after the 1^st 2.25 hours of its run time. Yeah, this damn thing drags on and on and on for the first 2.25 hours of its run time.  The movie itself however somehow magically ends up feeling  like a movie that is quite a bit less than 3 hours long, likely due to the crazy out of control final battle.

I personally didn’t expect this movie to go in the direction that it did, but overall I have to say it was better than the misguided INFINITY WAR installment. The sad part is this thing didn’t go as far as it could have, to deliver on a ten year build up. 

What was great (as per frikin usual), were the special effects, overall cinematography and extreme effort to get this all on screen. Do you need to go see ENDGAME,? Of course you do. Is it as good as some of the other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well no, not even close. This movie is to sci-fi tropes what AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON was to the werewolf lore that preceded it. Rocket is fantastic, Nebula is fantastic. There are a few other awesome, awesome  surprises…so yeah. Check it out for yourself.

Because this movie is not one I walked out of extremely anxious to watch again right away…I give ENDGAME a 4 out of 7. With that said, this is one time where I will say the movie version of the events of ENDGAME is light years better than the comic book version.
