BAD KIDS GO TO HELL (2012)

BAD KIDS GO TO HELL is a great movie for a lot of reasons and a pile of garbage for a lot of reason. Unfortunately this is why most fans of even the comic will probably be better off taking an honest look and realizing 3 things.

1) Every kid in this movie is the complete jerk who you wanted to kick in the nuts in high school. I am not kidding, we are not rooting for ANY of them, especially by the end of the movie. Even Megan who provides some of the more intense scenes in the movie is just that girl who will crush your soul (and probably poison you) at the end of the day no matter how pretty she is.

2) At least for me there are a lot of things I wanted to be “true” in this movie that simply were not, this is actually one of the better parts of the film and provides for the diabolical twist at the end which I don’t feel will leave most wanting.

3) This is one of those BREAKFAST CLUB meets APRIL FOOLS horror/dark comedy (if you can call it that) flicks that in its own deprivation at least has us engaged. I don’t know if this ends up a cult flick at some point, but along with the comic I can see a sequel and I can see it gaining a loyal group of fans.

What did I learn from this is that you probably can’t trust red heads who have no business wearing glasses, don’t ever try and attract a spirit or try to appease it even if it’s not real. Finally whatever you do, do not let the headmaster of anything leave you in a building you have no way of getting out of with a bunch of other psychotic kids who appear to be auditioning for, "killer with an axe of the year" award. For some people the soundtrack alone will be worth checking this out. The production overall is pretty cheap.

I give this film at 4 out of 7. Rating definition : VERY GOOD This movie leaves you with that feeling that although everything may not be okay, girls can kick butt and one man can save the world with either one bullet left in the chamber some special power he discovered 5 minutes ago. This movie is a good time and makes you wonder how many people you can tell about its awesomeness the next day at work.
